A milestone years in the making, Crossroads for Women is pleased to announce that we have finalized the purchase of a 30,000 square foot facility in downtown Albuquerque to serve as our new, permanent home. The facility, to be known as Crossroads Village, will serve as a central hub for our organization and house the majority of our programs and staff.

At the new Crossroads Village, we will be able to expand and strengthen our services to women in the community, including the creation of a dedicated children’s area and playground, state of the art vocational services training and computer lab, full commercial kitchen, and more.

Executive Director Cory Lee says, “This is a testament to the power of the women Crossroads serves. It is through their hard work that this new chapter for Crossroads is possible. We are excited about the opportunity to expand our services and provide a safe space for women in the community.” Lee began her career with Crossroads in 2011 and has served as Executive Director since 2019.

We will be moving into our new facility over the next several weeks with plans to be fully operational by May 1. A full renovation of the property will take place over the next two years while the majority of staff operate on the north side of the facility.

“I am so proud to see how my successors and the amazing women of Crossroads have worked to expand the services available to assist women making the transition from incarceration to the community,” says CRFW founder and local civil rights attorney Lisa Simpson. “The continued success of Crossroads is a credit to the women engaged in the program and a credit to the community that has invested in the future of these women who might otherwise have been marginalized by society.”

We are grateful to have partnered with First Citizens Bank and Fidelity National Title of New Mexico, Inc. to purchase our new property located near Lovelace Medical Center in downtown Albuquerque. To fully renovate the facility, including relocating Maya’s Place to the property, we need a total of $3.05 million.

So far we have raised $1.745 million through a capital funds grant from Bernalillo County announced in December 2020, a gift from the Hogares Foundation, and general funds. We are currently in the early stages of a capital campaign to raise the remaining $1.305 million over the next five years.

To kick off fundraising efforts for Crossroads Village and celebrate women’s history month, on March 1 we launched the Every Woman campaign encouraging all women in New Mexico to donate $1 to CRFW this month. To learn more and make your $1 donation, please visit crossroadsabq.org/everywoman
