Coming 2021: Crossroads Village

We are pleased to announce that the Bernalillo County Department of Behavioral Health Services has awarded $1.245M in capital funding to Crossroads for Women.

“In our 23-year history, this is the largest grant we’ve ever been awarded and the first time we’ve received capital funding,” says Executive Director Cory Lee.

A new building is the next chapter for Crossroads. The capital funds awarded by Bernalillo County are being used to purchase and renovate a 30,000 square foot building in downtown Albuquerque with plans to move operations in early 2021.

“We’ve tripled in size over the past five years,” says Lee. “Today we have nearly 50 employees and serve over 300 women and their children each year. As a result, our longtime home at 805 Tijeras Ave NW no longer meets our needs.”

“The new Crossroads Village will allow us to expand our services and empower more women in New Mexico to build healthy and independent lives,” says Board Vice President and Crossroads graduate Queva Hubbard.

At the Crossroads Village, we will be able to strengthen our family programming, including the creation of a dedicated children’s area and playground. Vocational services will be supported by a state-of-the-art training and computer lab. A commercial kitchen will enhance client group meals and allow us to host our own client-centered events. Other features of the new space will include an expanded food pantry, community laundromat, multiple group rooms, and a safe community space for women.

In 2021, we will launch a capital campaign to raise the remaining funds needed to renovate our new home. We can’t wait to share more with you about the new Crossroads Village coming soon!
