Crossroads for Women response to COVID-19

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

March 12, 2020 – In response to guidance from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and local officials regarding the COVID-19 outbreak, Crossroads for Women (CRFW) leadership is taking action to mitigate the spread of infection and prioritize the safety of clients, staff, and community members.

For the next 14 days (March 12-26), the following precautions are in place at CRFW:

  • Only current clients and staff will be allowed on CRFW properties, including:
    • The Crossroads – 805 Tijeras Ave NW in Albuquerque
    • Maya’s Place – 600 Paisano St NE in Albuquerque
    • The Pavilions – 735 Don Pasqual Rd NW in Los Lunas
  • Visitors, community service workers, and volunteers will NOT be allowed on any properties
  • In-kind donations will not be accepted or picked up
  • CRFW therapeutic communities will not be accepting new clients
  • Clients will only receive off property passes to visit family
  • All staff must receive approval to travel between properties
  • Staff will assist and support clients in addressing the mitigation strategies identified by the CDC and self-quarantine if necessary
  • All day programming events for clients, including groups and meals, are cancelled
  • All clients or staff who appear to be ill and/or disclose not feeling well will need to seek care immediately to rule out COVID-19.
  • Any client who tests positive for COVID-19 will need to be placed in respite if possible
  • All clients will have access to phones and mail
  • The 5th Annual Tea Time with Crossroads event scheduled for March 14 is cancelled

All of these precautions will be re-assessed every 14 days until mitigation protocols are lifted. In the event that public school closures occur, Senior Management will address the need for modified work schedules for staff with school-age children on a case-by-case basis.
