UNM Fraternity and Sorority Life Partner with Crossroads

UNM Fraternity and Sorority Life students at the Greek Week Banquet

We were honored to be selected as the philanthropic partner for UNM Fraternity and Sorority Life’s Greek Week. Throughout the last week of February, UNM Fraternities and Sororities fundraised on behalf of Crossroads for Women, while also competing in various events like Trivia Night, Greek Sing, and Food Drives to spark friendly competition amongst the chapters. Chapters also created banners with the theme of “One Night in Hollywood,” and were able to incorporate Crossroads logo in their designs!

Crossroads Executive Director, Cory Lee and Communications and Development Director Holly Durante were asked to be judges at the Greek Sing event. Chapters performed skits and were judged based on creativity and choreography amongst other categories.

The week was capped off with a celebratory banquet where the winners were announced from Greek Sing, and Crossroads was presented with a check from the Greek Week fundraising.  UNM Fraternities and Sororities raised over $28,000 for Crossroads for Women and collected and donated over 1000 personal hygiene items for our community members!

We want to say a HUGE thank you to UNM Fraternity and Sorority Life for choosing Crossroads as this year’s philanthropic partner.  Words cannot express how thrilled we are with the students creating awareness about Crossroads and our mission, as well as fundraising on our behalf. The money raised will help us with the repairs needed for our future laundry facility and will go towards renovating the southside of Crossroads Village, the future home of Maya’s Place.

We hope that we can continue a partnership with UNM.  In the next month, we will be engraving a plaque for UNM Fraternity and Sorority Life that will be placed on our “Resiliency” butterfly at Crossroads Village.
