Sunshine and Smiles At Our Women’s Market!

All smiles for this adorable child getting her face painted at the market!

In late May, we held a Women’s Market at our downtown location.  The event brought in vendors that ranged from digital artists, potters, fiber artists, and soap makers.  Local animal rescue, Cross my Paws brought the cuteness, with many puppies looking for their fur-ever home.

While there was some concern over how the weather would hold up for the event, we were lucky to have a beautiful morning for the market.  Winds and rain thankfully did not start until we were just about packing up for the day. The market was a wonderful opportunity for some of our own community members to share their craft with the public, providing face painting and hair braiding.  There were no empty stomachs, as La Botanita food truck provided delicious snacks such as nachos and elote and refreshing beverages such as aguas de frutas.

We were thrilled to host so many creative and talented local artisans, as well as provide the community with resources for education, behavioral health, and a COVID vaccine clinic. We want to thank our sponsors, UNM Health Science Center Health Equity Project and Best Daze for supporting Crossroads!  Thank you to the wonderful vendors that registered to be a part of the event!
