National Volunteer Week Spotlight: Meet our Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee at Crossroads for Women is made up of dedicated community volunteers from who care deeply about making a positive impact in fellow women’s lives.

Each woman has her own story that brought her to volunteer at Crossroads. Many of the committee members have been volunteering for several years, some have graduate from Crossroads programs, and others work at different recovery agencies in the community.

Dalilah Naranjo, Community Engagement Coordinator at Crossroads for Women, has served as the staff committee chair for the last four years. “The Fundraising Committee here at Crossroads is INVALUABLE,” says Dalilah. “Working with this committee has showcased to me what dedication and commitment is really all about.”

Dalilah says, “You can tell they believe in what we do. In so many ways, this group has truly taught me what it is to be selfless. They consistently remind me that there are people out there who believe in our mission enough to STAY involved.”

2020 Crossroads Fundraising Committee Members

Queva Hubbard

Queva has been a member of the fundraising committee since 2019 and currently serves on the Crossroads for Women Board of Directors. Queva is a Certified Peer Support Specialist who works with the New Mexico Family Advocacy Program assisting families who have been affected by the child welfare system. Queva has a unique perspective in working with families by offering support and sharing her own 14-year history with incarceration, drug use, and the separation of her children. She is a graduated of The Pavilions transitional housing program and a former Crossroads staff member.


Ashley Hagerty

Ashley has been a member of the fundraising committee since 2019. Born and raised in New Mexico, she obtained her bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of New Mexico and moved to Colorado then Florida to pursue a career in hospitality. She recently moved back to New Mexico to be closer to family and now works in business development for a local behavioral health hospital. She is a proud mother of two and enjoys cooking and hiking in her free time. Her mother was a longtime supporter of Crossroads, so after her passing, Ashley decided to volunteer in her honor.  


Crystal Little

Crystal has been a member of the fundraising committee since 2016. Originally from Las Cruces, NM, she has been raising her son in Albuquerque, NM since 2015. She has been a drug and alcohol counselor for 17 years working in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Giving back to the community is an important part of her world and any way in which she can help others, she will work to make it happen.


Monica Roybal

Monica has been a member of the fundraising committee since 2016. A native of Albuquerque, NM, she has 25 years of administrative and event planning experience working for Intel Corporation in Rio Rancho. Monica spends most of her spare time with her husband, enjoying riding, shopping, camping, boating, fishing and just hanging out. One of her favorite things to do is to go to yard sales and flea markets and find those rare pieces of “junk” and upcycle them.  She also belongs to a law enforcement motorcycle club that puts on benefit rides and community events every year.


Leah Tiemann

Leah has been a member of the fundraising committee since 2011. Her projects have included: event planning, teaching groups of clients cake decorating skills, donating large cakes and decorated cookies on request. She collects hundreds of coats each year for the programs, serves ice-cream floats at the annual family BBQ, and started the annual Tea Time with Crossroads fundraiser.


Denise Vigil

Denise has been a member of the fundraising committee since 2016. Born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, she is an only child; however, both her parents come from large families and she grew up influenced by her family traditions and culture. Denise has worked at Intel Corporation in Rio Rancho for 22 years. Her role is providing senior administrative support to the manufacturing engineers and technicians. She’s actively involved with Intel’s diversity groups: Intel LatinX Network, Women of Intel Network (WIN), and Corporate Site events. She also enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering at APS and Rio Rancho middle schools with STEM projects.


Jo Jennings West

Jo has been a member of the fundraising committee since 2017. She attended the College of Notre Dame (now Notre Dame University of Maryland) where she majored in Theatre and Education. She received her MA in Liberal Arts from The Johns Hopkins University. In addition to teaching Drama and English for more than 20 years, she founded an educational enrichment program that offered after school classes to children in Baltimore-area public and private schools. Jo is also an experienced sales and marketing professional with proven success in client-based development for small businesses. She relocated to Albuquerque, NM from the east coast in 2015.


Dalilah Naranjo

Dalilah has served as the staff fundraising committee chair since 2016. A native New Mexican, Dalilah works as the Community Engagement Coordinator at Crossroads. She is responsible for the agency’s volunteer program, community outreach, special event coordination, and fundraising. She started at Crossroads as an AmeriCorps VISTA Member and has a passion for ensuring that all women and children throughout the state have the equitable support needed to break the cycles of poverty, incarceration, and stigmatization. With a BA in Sociology from the University of New Mexico, she works to create solidarity in a community where a beautiful and celebrated life for each of our clients is possible.
