Landlords Explore New Ways to Partner with Crossroads for Women

Landlord partners and Crossroads staff at the February Landlord Appreciation Lunch.

Last month landlord partners joined together with Crossroads for Women staff for a landlord appreciation lunch. At the event, landlords and staff discussed new ways to expand and strengthen their partnership.

Landlord partners play a vital role in housing Crossroads for Women clients. During the lunch Executive Director John Ross discussed how HUD regulations prevent clients graduating from therapeutic community programs like Maya’s Place or The Pavilions from moving into permanent supportive housing through The Crossroads program, which is currently funded by HUD.

To combat this break in the continuum of care, Crossroads is actively looking for new landlord partners to provide temporary supportive housing for women graduating from its therapeutic community programs. This fall Crossroads will launch a pilot program with 4-5 therapeutic community graduates placed in apartments donated by local landlords.

Establishing alternative ways to provide temporary housing for women is crucial to the Crossroads for Women mission. The goal is to create a continuum of care where the average Crossroads for Women client receives wrap-around services and housing for 4-5 years.

If you’re a landlord interested in partnering with Crossroads for Women, please contact Executive Director John Ross at 505-270-2351 or email.
