Dr. Angela Davis coming to Albuquerque

Crossroads for Women is pleased to welcome social justice activist Dr. Angela Davis as the keynote speaker for this year’s inaugural Changing Hearts & Minds on June 27th.

This event provides the Albuquerque community with a unique opportunity to hear from nationally recognized social justice activists. Attendees will discover new ways to share their voices and advance social justice in New Mexico and beyond.

2020 keynote speaker Dr. Angela Davis is known throughout the world for her activism and social justice scholarship. An icon of the American Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Davis’ work draws attention to the struggles of marginalized communities and confronts the sources of their oppression. Much of her life’s work has focused on the devastating affect of mass incarceration and the criminalization of women and communities of color. 

A Distinguished Professor Emerita at University of California, Santa Cruz, Dr. Davis is the author of nine books and has lectured throughout the United States as well as Europe, Russia, Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America.

Changing Hearts & Minds will take place on Wednesday, June 27, 2020 from 11:30am-1:30pm Due to Covid-19 we will be hosting this event Online.

Proceeds from this event will support Crossroads for Women programs and clients.
