The Client Advisory Board at Crossroads, known as CAB, went above and beyond for staff members this month. CAB members organized a special staff appreciation event on October 15 complete with a delicious meal, awards ceremony, raffle, and more.
CAB member Liz spoke about the inspiration behind the event and desire to recognize staff for all of the hard work they put in day after day on behalf of Crossroads clients. At the event every staff member received a certificate and clients shared how staff members had impacted their lives.
Aftercare client Annette had this to say about her experience with the POPSS program staff: “I fell off being involved with Crossroads and I also fell off going to meetings, and then I fell off the wagon. I wound up being homeless again this spring. The aftercare staff loved me when I couldn’t love myself. This client right here, I don’t know where I’d be without aftercare. And I’m so happy and doing well now.”
Community Engagement Coordinator Dalilah Naranjo said, “This is by far my most favorite event we’ve ever had at Crossroads.” That meant a lot to clients coming from the staff member who dedicates her time putting on multiple events for clients throughout the year.
