Change to Transitional Housing Application Process

Effective July 1, 2018, Maya’s Place and The Pavilions will only accept applications referred by the New Mexico Corrections Department.

Referring community organizations working with women who are interested in applying to our transitional housing programs (Maya’s Place or The Pavilions) should direct clients to contact their probation/parole officers who will submit a referral through their department as required. Referrals will then be submitted to CRFW.  Once the referral is received by CRFW staff an interview will be scheduled. A determination will be made soon thereafter.

The general criteria is a woman with a co-occurring disorder who will be on probation and/or parole for at least one year and who is motivated to make life changes and to participate in the program.

We understand that there are fewer resources in the community to assist women working to obtain support services before being sentenced to jail and/or prison. We are working diligently to create a diversion program for women and hope to announce that program in 2019.
