With support from The Jennifer Riordan Foundation, the Joe Puleo Scholarship Fund was established in 2018 to support Crossroads for Women clients in achieving their vocational and educational goals with honor.
Whether a person is saving lives as a doctor or cleaning hotel rooms as a housekeeper, when people work with honor and do their jobs to the best of their ability, every part of a community is strengthened. No one embodied this spirit better than Joe Puleo, our former Program Director who passed away unexpectedly in 2018.
A steady fixture at Crossroads for over 10 years, Joe never failed to approach every situation and person that he met with compassion, love, and respect. His work was done honorably and as a result, his community was forever changed.
The Joe Puleo Scholarship Fund continues Joe’s legacy by providing financial support to women engaged in a vocational or educational activity while empowering them to strengthen their community by working honorably in whatever job they choose.
