Maya’s Place is a structured nine to twelve month program at a fifteen bed multi-lease apartment living site for women upon release from incarceration. Women participate in on-site therapeutic programming addressing substance addictions and mental illness, as well as, life skills education, group therapy, parenting, vocational training, holistic health services and community activities. All services are aimed at helping the women move toward self –sufficiency. Program rules and a graduated, goal driven level system, create close supervision and structure early in the program, with increasing independence as successful participation continues.
In order to qualify for the Maya’s Place program women must be on parole or probation through the New Mexico Corrections Department and/or can be referred through their Federal Probation officers. Women entering Maya’s Place must be clean and sober at admission and have a co-occurring disorder.
