Kimberly and Paris ClaytonThe Crossroads provides housing and intensive support services for women with co-occurring mental and addictive disorders working towards self-sufficiency. The Crossroads operates two programs. The HUD program is a permanent supportive housing program utilizing scattered site housing for homeless women cycling between homelessness and incarceration and their children. The county program is a permanent supportive housing program for women exiting Metropolitan Detention Center.


Admission Criteria

In order to qualify for The Crossroads,  women must meet the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s definition of homelessness. According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, homelessness is defined as “have four documented episodes of homeless in the past three years or twelve consecutive months of homelessness” “and /or “be currently homeless, or be in a transitional housing program.” Additionally, women must have a co-occurring disorder. Women interested in the county housing program must be referred to Crossroads for Women by Bernalillo County Housing Supportive Housing Program.
